pirmenybės statusas T sritis Kūno kultūra ir sportas apibrėžtis Sporto varžybų rūšis, vienos iš pagrindinių metų varžybų. Pirmenybėms būdinga tai, kad aukštesniosios grandies varžybose (pvz., šalies pirmenybėse) gali dalyvauti tik tos komandos arba sportininkai, kurie dalyvavo žemesniosios grandies (miesto arba rajono) varžybose ir pasiekė geriausių rezultatų. Sportinių žaidimų pirmenybės vykdomos ratų sistema, dažniausiai skirstant komandas į pogrupius. Pasiekusieji pergalę gauna pirmenybių nugalėtojų titulą ir apdovanojami pirmenybių nugalėtojų žetonais, medaliais. atitikmenys: angl. championship vok.
